This two-day introductory level course offers an overview of how the global positioning system works. It covers GPS/GNSS fundamentals and principles and technologies, including signals, clocks and timing, orbits and constellations, and satellites and control segment function.
This two and a half-day course is targeted at military operators, testers, and planners involved in the use and testing of GPS user equipment, who may not have electrical engineering backgrounds or deep familiarity with satellite-based navigation (satnav). The first 4.5 hours provide a comprehensive background at a conceptual level of satnav principles, without using equations or theory. The following 5.5 hours introduce numerical tools used in systems engineering for military use of GPS.

This 3-day public or on-site course offers a comprehensive introduction to GPS/ GNSS technology, system concepts, design, operation, implementation and applications, and a full day of differential GPS. This is our technical foundation course. Take this 4-day course to gain a comprehensive understanding of GPS/GNSS system concepts, design and operation, including information on GPS signal processing by the receiver; techniques by which GPS obtains position, velocity and time; and a brief introduction to differential GPS (DGPS) and Kalman filtering. This course is similar to Course 356 (5 days), but with less emphasis on DGPS and Kalman filtering.
This course is excellent for engineering staff who need to be rapidly brought up to speed on GNSS and GPS in order to work more effectively.
This five-day course offers a comprehensive introduction to GPS and DGPS technology, system concepts, design, operation, implementation and applications, including detailed information on the GPS signal, receiver processing, and the techniques by which GPS obtains position, velocity and time. This course builds on the previous one by adding a full day of Differential GPS and two additional hours of Kalman filtering.
This 3-day course skips the fundamentals altogether and dives right into a discussion of differential GPS, which continues throughout the week, together with an in-depth look at GPS signal processing, navigation message content, code tracking and receivers and concludes with Kalman filtering basics.
This course is excellent for those engineers and technical professionals who know the basics of GPS but need more detail on DGPS, signals, receivers, antennas, navigation algorithms, Kalman filtering and practical aspects of GPS.
This is an intensive, fast paced, on-site four-day course on Kalman filtering theory and Kalman filtering applications. Included is a discussion of linear, extended, unscented, and square root Kalman filters and their practical applications to real-time strapdown navigation and target tracking. Exposure to Information filters, 2nd and 3rd order extended Kalman filters, particle filters, integrity monitoring, and methods of smoothing is included. Emphasis is on practical applications, but sufficient supporting theory is provided for further research.
This intensive 5-day course will enable attendees to achieve proficiency, not merely familiarity, with the essential aspects of using GPS/GNSS signals. It not only addresses current and future GPS signals, but also drills deeply into available details of signals from other satellite-based positioning and timing systems.
Receiver processing techniques are described along with ways to characterize the performance of receiver processing. These processing techniques are customized to specific characteristics of signals from GPS and other satnav systems. Specialized topics, including dealing with interference and with multipath, differential satnav, and assisted satnav, are also addressed.
